A type of spam you’ve probably never heard of, but definitely impacts your marketing

​Spam isn’t just for email anymore.

It can even impact your Google Analytics, which is perhaps one of the best tools to gauge the effectiveness of your online marketing.

If you have someone tracking your website’s analytics, make darn sure they’re segmenting out the spam from your data. The difference between filters and segments: Filters can take out the spam from your data, but is not retroactive. Segments (which I use) take out the spam data from your analytics past, present and future, but does require maintenance and upkeep (which is easy).
